One person was killed Saturday morning when flames destroyed a two-story house in Lawrence County.

According to police, Vaughnie Schwartz, 51, was killed in the fire that started just after 4 a.m. at a house on Scott Wallace Road in Little Beaver Township.

Officials said Schwartz and three other adults were inside the house at the time of the blaze. Donald Jurasko, 29, suffered moderate injuries in the fire, police said. The other two adults were not injured.

Crews had difficulty getting to the house because of the icy conditions.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
